Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)

for the Highland Lakes Area, Inc.

Serving Blanco, Burnet, Lampasas, Llano, and San Saba Counties

CASA for the Highland Lakes Area, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization--the only organization in Blanco, Burnet, Lampasas, Llano, and San Saba counties that recruits and trains volunteers to provide direct services to children after they have been removed from their home by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services due to abuse and/or neglect

CASA volunteers are the voice for these children in court and “speak up” for their best interest throughout the judicial process.

To date, CASA for the Highland Lakes Area has served over 1300 child victims. CASA has helped get children out of foster care in half the time it would ordinarily take— at a considerable savings to taxpayers.

VOLUNTEER - HELP A CHILD

CASA for the Highland Lakes is in need of volunteer advocates.

We need adults willing to stand up for an abused or neglected child. We have an alarming number of new children entering foster care in our five county area of Lampasas, San Saba, Llano, Burnet, and Blanco.

A CASA volunteer is appointed by a judge to provide factual information on behalf of a child caught in a difficult legal process. A CASA volunteer can make the single greatest difference in the life of a child.

When home is no longer safe for a child, and the child must enter the foster care system, a judge will appoint

a caring, adult volunteer called a CASA or court appointed special advocate.

The volunteer’s focus is on that child, giving hope and help in guiding the child to a safe, permanent home.
