Child abuse killed 233 Texas children in 2007 and 213 in 2008. -
In 2008, 5259 CASA volunteers advocated for the best interest of children. -
Of the 44,928 children in Texas' custody in 2008, only 24,477 children had a CASA volunteer to stand up for them in court; and -
